In-Situ flange facing – Crane post

Bearing support surface renewal

As a result of the service delivered on a sister ship earlier in the year, Goltens received an enquiry from the shipowner to attend the 190 meter, 55,711 DWT bulk carrier in drydock to evaluate the condition and renew the bearing support surfaces for the ship’s Number 1 crane post.

Goltens deployed tools and technicians to the ship and carried out the laser checking and flange facing on the 2.8 meter diameter surfaces. With work completed to the owner’s satisfaction, Goltens was subsequently awarded the machining work for units 2, 3 and 4

  • Crane removed from bearing support

  • Installation of flange facer on 2.8m dia. Pedestal
