Dry Docks World boring precision and response drive follow on work
New build Jack up crane barge machining
As part of the recently signed agreement between Goltens and Dubai Dry Dock, Goltens was engaged to perform In-situ machining/boring of locking pin guides for a new build jack up crane barge. The job was line boring of two bushes that would act as locking pin bores to support jacking legs when in service.
Goltens mobilized tools and technicians to the dry dock the day the initial inquiry was received and the machining was started the following morning. The project was to be completed on an urgent basis. Dubai Dry Docks had a total of 24 bores to be completed and had engaged two additional firms to work in parallel with Goltens on other surfaces
Goltens Dubai technicians outperformed the other contractors with their tooling to such an extent that Goltens was asked to engage an additional boring machine and additional in-situ teams so that both machines could be utilized around the clock.
With two machines working 24 hours a day and two teams working simultaneously Dubai Dry Docks made the decision to give the entire job to Goltens and the other firms disengaged.
