Using Chockfast® Orange Resin To Resolve Foundation Corrosion At The Sportshub Stadium in Singapore.

During operations at one of the power stations of a major European electrical supplier, a lack of lubrication caused damage to one of the rotor shafts. The power station operators asked Goltens’ experienced In-situ engineers to evaluate the situation and determine the correct repair procedures.
The new stadium’s sliding rooftop’s 16 winches had alignment issues due to gaps caused by corrosion in the winch foundations.
As the authorized distributor and certified installation partner for ITW Polymer Technologies’ Chockfast® products , Goltens proposed a foundation chocking solution utilizing the Chockfast® Orange resin.
Goltens’ ITW certified engineers evaluated the requirements, calculated the grouting requirements and mobilized the required installation and safety equipment to completed the job high above the stadium floor.

CHOCKFAST® ORANGE PROJECT SCOPE:
- Inspection of the damaged shaft
- Installation of machining tools and equipment
- Machining of rotor shaft-end to undersize -1.5 mm (528.5 mm)
- Honing of rotor shaft-end to obtain final roughness of 0.2 Ra
- Inspection of end result and checking of straightness and surface roughness
CHOCKFAST® ORANGE GROUTING RESULTS:
The application of the grouting completely resolved the corrosion and alignment issues with the rooftop winches in a single installation process.
The winch was aligned according to specifications and operationally tested without issues.
